Afterburner - Gassmoker.com Question

i received my afterburner yesterday. i went to hook it up today and the hose won't fit into my propane tank. my BBQ uses this type of hose

but the afterburner hose is a little different. the hose pictured above goes around the propane tank nozzle, but the afterburner hose goes In the nozzle. but it looks like the hose nozzle is too long and i can't screw it in. i know my propane tank is the standard model, i checked at the local hardware store. so i don't know whats wrong

i e-mailed the guy at gassmoker.com but no response yet.

any help would be appreciated

You may be lacking a safety "customer installed" cut-off valve of some sort?

no, im just dumb. it screws in COUNTER-clockwise.
