I never removed the original vent I just added the elbow tube and pointed it away from the wind. I did pull my chip loader & tray out to have about a 1" opening. My smoke was very consistent after those few things. Not crazy just a steady blue stream of smoke. Good luck!
I do not own one but I looked at them at my local ACE before buying my Green Mountain Grill Daniel Boone. I agree they look really well built but I had to do allot of deep google searches to get any info on them. My opinion from research was the build quality appears slightly better than average...
I found a prime packer at HEB and will be cooking the brisket on a GMG Daniel Boone Saturday night for Sunday lunch. Hope it comes out as good or better than my MES30.
Any use the AMNPS in a GMG DB before?
I don't have time to get the tube my concern is ash on my brisket.
They are sending me a new probe I was very impressed with the fast response time. On a side note the iOS app doesn't work over your local wif connection you have to request a beta version. The point to point works but is very short range so kinda worthless to be honest. I requested the beta...
I just got my DB home today as for your questions
**** Sorry I must of been asleep when I replied last night I agree the 13lbs probably not fit on the DC but I only $200 more for the DB you may want to look into that option**********
I have seen several post but I am old and cannot remember...
Gary I took my brisket out of the freezer and put it in my fridge Sunday and today its still pretty frozen. I wanted to season it on Friday for Saturdays cook should I keep waiting or take it out for a couple hours to speed it up?
Thanks I am supposed to purchase Daniel Boone wifi tomorrow and pick it up Friday and thats been weighing on my mind, even after reading tons of positive post.
Just saw a story about this on the news apparently the Austin city Council is trying to make BBQ restaurants within 150 feet of residential zone areas use smoke scrubbers.

I have been using the igrill2 to keep an eye on the temp works great for me. The app alerts you when your meat is within 10 degrees then again when you hit your set temp. I paid $99 but have seen them less on occasion and really elevated my cooking IMHO.
