First Brisket Experiment
Pictures were not worthy of posting I'm afraid, the meat turned out well, but for some reason the rub never set? It was extremely soggy and I had to scrape it all off. Very disappointing. Does anyone know what causes this?- jbsnuggets

First Brisket Experiment
Doing my first brisket this weekend. Been doing some research and I've decided to inject with a 50/50 apple juice/coke mixture. Has anyone tried this before? Sounds pretty good to me and a little whacky so I think I'll give it a shot. Would love to hear some opinions. JB- jbsnuggets

Thanks, I've got some lump charcoal and a bag of kingsford, with the kingsford (used it last time) I had to add a few lit coals every hour or so, the lump should burner slower correct? Also have some cherry wood soaking as we speak.- jbsnuggets

One of my concerns, you'll notice in the picture that the firebox looks like it's sagging a little, however it doesn't leak hardly at all between the FB and the smoking chamber. Seasoning the new Ok Joe with my smoking buddy today. Got a few leakes in the doors I've got to fix, but overall I'm pretty happy. Been cooking hot around 450 for an hour, think ill tone it down and try to hold it at 220-230 from here on out.- jbsnuggets
