    Masterbuilt propane smokers

that is what I do in my single door XL (40).  I do not know why it would not work for the 2 door 30.  I just make sure that I keep the area down by the propane burner clean by using a paint brush to sweep the charcoal ashes that dropped down away.

My First Beer Can Chicken and Chicken Legs Attempt.

Thanks everyone.  I will definitely keep the q-picks coming as I intend to smoke something at least once a week, if not once every week and a half.  Since it is only my wife and I, I am trying to control the amount of food in the fridge.  lol  Bad enough to have to throw out uncooked meat, but...

My First Beer Can Chicken and Chicken Legs Attempt.

Thanks Leah and Justin.  It took me forever to convince my wife that the pink she saw was the smoke ring and not undercooked chicken.  lol  We both grew up being taught that pink bird is very bad.  lol  It was not until I started smoking that I realized that it is not the color but the temp that...

My First Beer Can Chicken and Chicken Legs Attempt.

Thanks.  Here are the results.   Drum Roll Please>>>>  lol It tasted ok, but I think next time I will settle for just salt and pepper as I think the spices took away from the taste of the chicken itself.  But that is just a personal preference.  It turned out nice and moist, the breast meat...

    Masterbuilt propane smokers

Ok, I just added my my latest addition to my Masterbuilt.  I added porcelin tiles to the top and it is working out really well so far.  It insulates the top of the smoker as well as providing a very warm surface to place things that I want to keep warm.  After about an hour, the top is really...

My First Beer Can Chicken and Chicken Legs Attempt.

Ok, here it is.  The beginning of my first Chicken smoke.  I used some of the herbs and brine that SmokeFever used in his Beer Can Chicken smoke recently posted.  I have legs as well as the Chicken with a 1/2 can of beer on a dedicated beer can chicken stand.  It was a Brickman that I picked up...

Decisions, decisions.... Which one to buy??

This is one of the reasons I love this website.there are so many people with such great ideas and I am learning something new everyday. I would've never thought to just put another heat source in your existing Brickman like SB59 suggest. That really does sound like a great idea as you can...

My first Scallop and Salmon Smoke

Wow, thank you all for the great comments. Fortunately for me my wife hates seafood so I got to enjoy it all by myself. I had only had smoked scallops one time before and it was a long time ago. A friend of mine went to Homer Alaska on a fishing trip he was able to purchase fresh frozen scallops...

Beer Can Chicken today, plenty of Q/View

Hey SmokeFever, thanks for the prompt reply. I actually have the chicken soaking in your brine recipe and the only addition I made was adding some mirin rice wine since I seem to have a ton of the stuff. Thank you also for the explanation on how to set up the beer can otherwise I would've put...

Beer Can Chicken today, plenty of Q/View

Also, do I need to do anything with the skin on the chicken itself?  Do I remove the skin from the legs before smoking? What if I shoved some fresh herbs and butter squares into the skin of the chicken as well?  Too much?

Beer Can Chicken today, plenty of Q/View

Oh, man, that is some awesome Q-Views.  I just bought my chicken yesterday to do today.  Can you tell me about how long it took you to smoke it?  This will be my first chicken and I originally planned to do the beer can only.  But after reading your post, I think I will get some of the herbs and...

My first Scallop and Salmon Smoke

Thanks FoamHeart.  I find it hard to get really fresh seafood.  The best I get is at a local butcher case.  I hope it is not frozen but it probably is.  But being in Kentucky, I cannot just go to the local seafood market and buy it extremely fresh.  So this will have to do.  As for the size of...

My first Scallop and Salmon Smoke

Hey smokers and smokettes.  I attempted my first cold, well, probably, luke warm seafood smoke.  I was not sure where to start and I felt too lazy to search the internet.  So I bought one piece of fresh salmon plain and one pre-marinated with brown sugar and bourbon.  I purchased 6 scallops at...
