I have the 735 but have not used it yet. When I checked probes in boiling water I went to the end of our house (about 60 fee) and it was reading the probes just fine.

Wich model do you have? I have the 44 inch and have no problem on heat. What is the temp outside? I always smoke at 225 - 235 myself.

I bought 2 silicone grommets and drilled 2 holes and inserted them. Now I can thread both probes through into the cook chamber. This keeps the wires much cleaner.
