I know this is an old post....Just wondering if the problem is fixed? I noticed some of the same problems with mine after the MB mod. I plugged up some holes. It did help...I wish the element was bigger or hotter.
I tried to post a link to Amazon. It looked OK in the preview box, maybe it's not allowed on this site. It was a water heater stand that is galvanized metal if anyone wants to look it up ($22), more than likely I didn't do it right.

2 burns so far and no issues. I will do that. I have also added this to my list in a doc saved on my computer from suggestions I have found from others on this site. I love my amzn smoker again!

I am using the heat gun now instead of torch to lite my pellets...works...
I haven't had any trouble with the pellets either while new. After some time they won't stay lit. Not blaming anyone just wanting to know If anyone has tried this. I went ahead and packed several 5# bags. We will see.I kept them in an attached garage before, very humid here, Love the way they...
Just got a fresh batch of new pellets from Todd. wondering if anyone vac seals their pellets....I have seen other methods on here but not seen anyone post about vacuum sealing. I think the zip lock type develop pinholes. My pellets absorb moisture apparently.

That sounds like mine. I don't care for the pittmaster pellets myself. I know many on here use them but I like the Hickory and oak OK. My wife said after I got the AMNPS
"I don't think I like smoked food any more", but it was the pittmasters pellets.
Bologna is one of my favorites. I cook it @ 225 for hour and half or hour and 45 min. I use Pecan and when I put in bologna then another batch about 45 mins later. I don't fill up chip loader but get about closed handful. I know people like different things you may want to try just half or so.
