Yes I think the OJ makes a difference, just infuses a different flavor. We've done vinegar, oj, apple juice, and bourbon. Just experiment until you find your favorite.

Hey guys, we're smoking 4 beer butt chickens tomorrow along with lots of other food. I'm running out of room in my fridge and wanted to know if i can brine the chickens one at a time (for 4 hours each) and then take them out of the brine and refridgerate until tomorrow?

The instructions say to place the water in the "lowest section of the smoker" ... but after your post, we read it again and it also says to reference another portion of the instructions ... which say the wood chips go on the bottom!

my husband and i are about to smoke chicken wings using our Brinkmann Vertical Gas Smoker for the first time. We are worried because when we seasoned the smoker we couldn't get it to produce smoke.
