Figures i wouldn't get what i ordered. No one sells it in the store so i'd figured i would get the right thing from a butcher! Any suggestions on how to go about smoking these?
Never done tri-tip before but after reading all these threads i had to try. It's almost impossible to find in my area of south Louisiana. New Butcher shop opened by my business and they cut some for me ($8.89lb), so i hope it is right they look small than the pictures i've seen.

Did my first some on the sams club member mark (embers grills) 28" smoker i got yesterday. Did a brisket, been so busy i have smoked any meat in a while. Going to do a turkey tomorrow. So far i'm pretty happy with this smoke and the price $239.
Here a picture done at 8:30am. I should have taken a picture of the other half it looked better. They are wrapped in foil and are in the chest for lunch. oh, i smoked at 280 till. The last 30min i took the water pan out and took it up to 350.
