    Yes it did.  About 3 hours and I checked with a meat thermometer and temp varied between 154 and 158 in various hot sticks.  Thanks for all your help.

    I cooked for 3 hours at 170 with the oven door cracked.  Is this enough time for cooking?

    Thanks.  I didn't know if there was some health issues, but if I make them in the oven i kind of thought there would not be a problem.  The meat was 60% venison and 40% pork.  I will make sure they get to 152 degrees

    Cure #1 vs cure #2

    Used cure #2 instead of cure #1 in a venison recipe.  Do not intend to smoke or dry cure but to do in oven at 170 until internals raise to 152.  Any problems or health issues with this? [email protected]

    Accidently used cure #2 instead of cure #1 for making venison sticks.  I will not be smoking but rather doing it in the oven at 170 degrees until internals reach 152.  Any problems or health issues with this?
