I had one before I ate, it was mild so I didn't want to smoke it after eating.  The Epernay was a little mild considering I smoked it right after I ate.  However the PSD4 was just right, it's one of the more bold Cubans I've smoked and it hit the spot perfectly!

Nice to see other BOTL here!  I didn't get any pics but I enjoyed a Boli PC to start the day and then had an Illusione Epernay, finished things up with a PSD4... it was a good day all around.

    CHUBBIES! (Fatties Little Brothers)

Very awesome, I'll have to give those a shot next time... or just come over next time you make them.

Do you know Seth House, Troy Taormina or Frank Flores?  They're some of my Houston cigar buddies.

I threw a HERFACUE this weekend for our cigar club and introduced some guys to the magic of fatties.  For those that don't know, a 'herf' is when 2 or more cigar smokers get together to smoke cigars and socialize.  It only takes 2 for a herf but I've had them with as many as 60 or more - good...

Noob frustrated - can't get fire right.

Thanks again everyone. I did a little more tinkering this weekend and I think I'm getting there.  Did another smoke this weekend (3 racks of ribs, 2 fatties and some smoked sausage) and fed an army of cigar smokers again... cigars, food, smoke - I think I see a theme here!  I'll post up a...

Noob frustrated - can't get fire right.

The way mine is setup I have small gardening shovel I use to clear the ashes.  I installed the 'legs' far enough apart I can still get in there and get some ashes out if I'm doing a really long smoke.

Noob frustrated - can't get fire right.

Just wanted to say thanks again for everyone's input here, I did a few more tweaks before today's smoke and got my temps up no problem - I actually had to work on keeping them down this time, figures, huh? I removed the bricks from my fire box and took four bolts and run them through the...

    Philly Phatty with Q-View

Smoked this up today and enjoyed it with some friends! Stuffed with roast beef, peppers, onions, mushrooms, cheese and some diced jalapeno.  Served it on a bun and it was excellent!

I'll try that with the deflector and I've got some ideas to fix my fire box. I did calibrate the thermometer.  Reads right at 210-212 in boiling water. I do give it enough time to heat up (I wasn't at first) and it seems like it will just get to about 240 and then immediately start to fall...

    My First Brisket with Q-View

No lipstick there, I use water colors... blends in with the meat and looks more believable.
