My nephew asked me to smoke an eye of round for is lunch sandwiches. I smoked one for him, pulled it at around 138 degrees then sliced it thin. He seemed to like it but I thought it was a little dry. He’s wanting some more, so I’m thinking about marinating it or injecting.
Any thoughts on a...

Sorry about the confusion, I’ve been dealing with hwh hydraulic company all week and apparently still have them on my mind. 😂
Thanks for pointing it out to me.
I’m a little biased but I love my HWH smoker. It doesn’t have the fancy paint job, just plain old school black.
It runs great around 230 ~250 range but if I want to run hot and fast, I can adjust the dampers, add some wood and go to town.
They will customize your smoker any way you want. I had...
Got the Inkbird in today and immediately set it up for a steak tonight. My first impression are that the interface was easy to figure out. But the biggest thing is how quiet this thing is. When I first stared it I had to open the lid and make sure the water was moving around. My old Anova...
Definitely not going try again :emoji_laughing: When I say it blew up, I meant that the top actually blew off, parts were in the water bath and obviously the breaker blew.
I knew it was out of warranty but it was worth a shot. Hopefully I’ll get more than 3 years from the next one.
So we heard from Anova and after a few emails back and forth (more pics, serial number, receipts, our address etc) they came back with basically this isn’t the experience we want our customers to have but your out of warranty.
With that, I figure I’ll give Inkbird a shot. I’m looking the...
Thanks for all your responses. I did send an email to Anova, got an auto response saying they will follow up with me in a couple days. I’ll decide after I hear back. I will say I’m already miss having a SV cooker.
Couple years ago I purchased a Anova SV cooker, today I was cooking a chicken breast and it literally blew up. I was sitting back and heard what sounded like a water bottle blowing up. Went into the kitchen to see and found this:
Since I have to order a new one, what do you recommend? This one...
If you’re here in the summer check out Austin Bros. Not traditional BBQ fair but they do a pretty decent Tri Tip on their smoker and some decent local brews.
I believe Alabaster is south of Tawas.
How fun and exciting. A few years ago we picked up, sold off etc everything and took off in the motor home. We spent 3 years traveling around. Great time in our life.
I usually smoke my briskets the day before the event. I cook them as normal, pull them off the smoker and let them rest to about 150 deg then bag them and put in a SV bath at 141 degrees until we’re ready to serve the next day.
I have 3 in a SV bath right now that we’ll cut into this evening.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. I retired the first on May and have been busier then I ever was working. 😁 Today I’m cooking 3 briskets for a family gathering tomorrow. Up early and started trimming around 5:00 AM.
The plan is to get them cooked up today, sealed in a food saver...
