    Paint or something else ?

Since I read your post I watched that video and a bunch more, it goes back way longer than the Amish by hundreds of years. I am not ready yet but will be looking for some dry tannic powder which seems like the easiest way to go from what I watched. Seems to take a couple of coats then let dry...

    Paint or something else ?

I had heard people say that but did not know it really worked, that would be easier than paint for me since I do the same with my cast iron pans but using bacon grease of vegetable oil and it makes a nice finish when cooked on. Thanks

Not close to being finished yet but what is the most common way to deal with a new smoker build. "The outside" It's just the normal rusty metal finish, clean rust and paint or oil with something? I tried searching and had no luck, I would like to have something that would last while. Thought...

Need some advice from the pros on exhaust size.

This kind of help is exactly why I came here, besides a ton of ideas on cooking and many other things, this is a pretty large site which helps when needing advice. Thanks for the help, and a really nice site for ideas and help.

I know pictures help so I will try to add a couple, 44" long 24" deep and 1/4" thick. Just starting out firebox mounted and door cut. Welding is not pretty but I am old and not so great eyes but it will do.

Need some advice from the pros on exhaust size.

Sorry, long trying to explain my confusion... Building an offset smoker from a propane tank, it is 24" deep and 44" long, firebox is 24" round and 19" long. I have used the Feldon calculator in the past with good results but the problem I am having is exhaust. The smoker has the firebox in the...
