Dumb question....I plan on doing the same thing, is the wax to preserve it?
I was just planning on smoking it in dec that way I would not have to pack the smoker down with ice
Hey glad to see you made it on!
Don't you love your char-griller?
You might plan on bringing some fat-tire over this Friday. I have to work all day so might just do some chicken wings or something.
I was digging through some stuff and found the manual for my pre-burn unit. Its from a company call T-Bone Grill http://tbonegrills.com/ I can't find anything about them or the model I have but they are the ones that make it....just wanted to share with those that asked what it was.
Thanks for the awesome reply (everyone)!
As for the pre-burn unit....it was a cheap smoker/grill I bought when I was living in my apartment. Bought it knowing it would not work well as a real smoker (not enough room) but would work as a grill and then a pre-burn unit once I got my house. Have...
If you want cast (I have cast and LOVE them) checkout Chargriller. All their smokers come with cast grates and I know you can buy replacement ones...if you need the dimensions let me know, not sure if they post it on their site or not.
Ok so I went ahead and got the char-griller warmer plate, castiron grate for the firebox and the prograde thermometer.
I have not installed any of them yet, but the thermometer does not look as pro grade as I was expecting.

We shall see how well it does, I will post pictures of it as soon...
First fattie, fresh jalapeños, minced garlic, onions, cheese and a dash of my pulled pork rub.
My setup (note the separate chamber to pre-burn my wood in.
Ok so I am getting ready to order some stuff from Char Griller, and I am very intrested in their Pro Grade Thermometer, they don't have a pic of it. I am wondering if anyone else here has it and would recommend it?

I just posted the message below in the smoked cheese section
I have been cold smoking cheese on my CharGriller Smokin' Pro for sometime. I will get some C-view (cheese view ) of the cheese next time I put some on.

I would recommend the CharGriller Smokin Pro for a few dollars you can make this model into a class A smoker!
The only reason I would disagree with Wayside is you don't get the same pleasure of a plate of AWESOME bbq from a electric smoker as you do the good old fashion charcoal/wood smoker...
Hello everyone, my name is Nathan Conner, everyone normally calls me Conner. I live in Bartlesville OK orginally from a small town in KS. I have been in and part of the lost art of smoking since I was about 8 years old when I helped my Dad build smokers (he had a small stint where he was...
