So I Was Gifted As Well ....

When mine was doing that I got a new regulator and it fixed it. I also am in the camp of not using the wire wheel on a drill. I did just that when I got mine used from my grandparents that was all rusty. Thing has been the biggest PITA since. I've refinished mine 3 times and it still isn't right!

    Weber kettle question

Yea that's what I'm trying to accomplish. The vortex is great for skin on chicken. But grilling boneless skinless thighs and breasts I just want direct heat for all the chicken. If I'm doing just a few pieces I've turned the vortex upside down and used the sns. But I'd rather throw it all on at...

    Weber kettle question

That's normally what I let it get to before I dump it. Should I dump it earlier than that?

    Weber kettle question

Yea it sure is! I started keto a month and a half ago for a weight loss comp at work. Not big on fish of any kind so chicken it is and lots of it! Their not packed together on the grate either though. I'm gonna try the lump this weekend and see what that'll do! Starting to kick around the idea...

    Weber kettle question

Hello all, I have a few questions for some of you charcoal guys. This is more geared towards grilling though. I'm grilling on the 26". When I originally bought it, it was used more for smoking. But I've been grilling my chicken for the week on it on Sundays. I've got the big weber chimney. I...

Down to 3 choices of grills ..what's your pick?

I have Recteq. BUT before everyone starts thinking I'm going to push that particular brand I'll say this. No matter what pellet grill you buy be it a cheap z grill or a 1500$ recteq we are all feeding the same brand of pellets. I came from a cuisinart woodcreek that is on sale right now at...

    Temps for smoked thighs?

I've always heard 175° for dark meat poultry. That'd what I take mine to and they always turn out good. Sometimes they'll creep a little higher than that but with all the fat they've never dried out like a breast would

    Grilla Grills Primate

I'm just worried about it rusting? The one I have now I have had a TERRIBLE time with the griddle itself. I've seasoned it multiple times multiple ways and the seasoning keep flaking off.

    Grilla Grills Primate

Thanks AL. I didn't even know they made one! That thing actually is exactly what I'm looking for for half the price of the Primate. Do they make a lid for it? I cant seem to find one. It'll be out back on a patio that is not covered

    Smoking Times on WSM 18

I guess I should've said 11 hrs with time to rest to be more exact. I normally let it rest for an hour or 2

    Smoking Times on WSM 18

I have the 22" WSM. When I'm smoking a shoulder I keep it around 275°. Normally takes around 11 hours with an 8lber. I start probing for tenderness around 200°. Do you slice vs shread? I would run the pit hotter. And I would definitely take your finishing IT up. If I'm pressed for time I'll wrap...

    Bear Mountain Owns Lumberjack?

I was at RK yesterday. They had a picture posted of the LJ bag and then a picture of their new bag beside it that said same product new design. But you can clearly tell that the RK pellets are bigger and the bag had quite a bit more dust in the bottom.from where the pellets were falling apart...

Looking to Purchase a Charcoal Smoker

I have the WSM 22 and a 26" kettle. I use the kettle 99% of the time with the Slow N sear for smoking. And then the vortex for grilling. Out of everything I have to cook on the kettle is by far the most versatile. The WSM imo is a pain in the butt. Once you get the kettle dialed in it'll run...
