I think your problem will be that you lose too much material making the cut itself the door will fall through the hole. put your flatbar on the inside for the clean look you want?
he wants to cut through the steel at a 45 so that he creates a beveled edge to seal the door rather than making a lip out of flat bar. He already sent me a msg asking the same. Explained why this wont work.
Temps were up and down, have tweaked the rack in the firebox a little and helped it. Mostly just need to get my timing down for adding wood. Overall happy with the outcome. Cooked some butts yesterday and going to do a belly in the next day or two.
Stack is done. Tomorrow we will build a fire in it. Left to do... Handles. Plug holes in the top of tank. Tool to grab racks for moving in and out. Few little here and there grinds/welds. Sandblast. Paint. Temp gauges.
