The calculator worked great! It gave me the dimensions for building the firebox, but I couldn't find out how big of a hole to cut in the brick. Is it half the size of the firebox or smaller?
Smoked bacon wrapped back strap. If you haven’t tried it you’re missing out! Smoke it to 125 then sear/crisp the bacon on the grill for 3 mins each side. Rest it for 20 mins.
I’m looking at converting this fire pit into a smoker. I’ll build a 12X14X18 fire box of 1/4” steel and attach it to the side. I’ll cut the chimney stack in half and enclose the top of the pit where the lid is now. Then I’ll put the door on the front where I can open it and slide the racks out...
