Thank you for the reply. Further research says that the water pan is for temperature control. I guess I have been wrong on that for quite awhile. Thanks again.- Insdagator

I am looking to possibly buy a Woodwind. I am not seeing a water pan, which I am used to having. Is it not necessary or do you all just add water in a bowl or something?- Insdagator
