Hi all! Quick question. Town I grew up in has a farmer that sells these jars of peppers. I grew up eating them and now my parents bring me them when they come to visit. They are comfortably hot, not like a jalapeño or habanero where it leaves my mouth burning. I put them on everything. Pizza...
I haven’t brewed in over a year since my daughter was born, but now that she’s 1 and things are in more of a routine, I just placed a grain order for two beers to brew next weekend. A mosaic ipa and a citra session ipa. Before my daughter was born, I bought a new electric system from Clawhammer...
The green mountain is well worth the price. My wife got me one for my Pit Boss and it fits and works perfectly. We use it all the time! I can get up past 700 F on the inside. But if you're looking to save money, a simple pizza stone should work almost just as well.
Still trying to perfect my...
Funny you say that. My cover already has a small hole in the top of it. It's not bad but I shouldn't have any wear on it for only being 3 months old. I reached out to pit boss to see if they had any "heavier duty" covers but they told me no.
Thanks! Definitely planned on cleaning the firepot everytime. Do you use foil or anything to cover the diffuser plate to make cleanup any easier there?
I bought the Pit Boss brand cover for it. Is that the best one for it or are there better ones? I'm in Ohio (don't let the username or avatar fool you) so it will see a lot of snow.
After a month of stalking Walmarts inventory, I was able to score a brand new Pit Boss XL yesterday on clearance for $247! Put it together today and did the burn off. Can't wait to put some food in it! My first pellet grill. Any tips or tricks with this are appreciated!
My firebox won't be here until the 12th. That's the earliest I could find one to get delivered. Really wanted to try a small boston butt this weekend. Can I just set up one half of this grill with the minion method, then on the other side put the meat on the cast iron grate and a water pan...
Hey guys, right now I smoke on a MES 30 but want to learn/experiment smoking with charcoal. I use a char griller Pro deluxe for my everyday grilling (pic attached) and wanted to attempt smoking a little pork shoulder on it. I’ve looked up the minion method and fuse but they seem geared towards...
Good choices on your end! I have a bunch of Goose Island Bourbon Counties from various years tucked away, along with half a dozen Three Floyds Dark Lords from various years. Like you, when the weather cools down a bit I'll be drinking most of these!
Definitely a lot to choose from. Not sure where you're located in AR, but a podcast I follow is based out of the Fayetteville area. Seems like a lot of great breweries are popping up in the area. Cheers!
3# boneless chuck went on the smoker at 11am with pecan wood. Fiance is doing the twice baked potatoes, crock pot buffalo chicken dip, and deviled eggs. I'm "cleaning the garage" (monitoring the smoke and having a cigar) and my beer menu consists of: keg of homebrew saison, Cigar City Jai Alai...
Currently a cascade hopped pale ale and a saison. The pale ale only has a few pints left then I’m kegging an experimental beer (red ale with kolsch yeast)
I gave in and got rid of the old kegerator in my first post. I decided to build a "keezer" out of a chest freezer. Still two taps, but looks nicer. Ended up using an extra smoke box with magnets as a drip tray. Only homebrew on tap here!
What's on your guys menus for the game Sunday? It's just going to be my fiance and I but going all out. My menu is also subject to change depending how the trip to Costco goes tomorrow! It's been -30F to -40F here in Cleveland this past few days... tomorrow and sunday it will warm up and be 50F...
