    MES 30 Turkey help

Also. I am pretty happy I have a new 7cuft freezer in the basement so I can buy some cheap turkey for smoking later. A 14lb turkey cost me less than $5....

    MES 30 Turkey help

Others hit the nail on the head. I did my first turkey in my MES30 last year as well as a backup roasted turkey and the smoked one was the hands down favorite As other said 275º I rubbed some evo and tony chacheres on the outside. Even though mine was enhanced I did the alton brown thaw and...

    Pellet Smoke Smell in Microwave

The majority of the smell has dissipated. But every time the microwave runs. and runs the vent it comes back a bit. Obviously the vent took the brunt of the smoke and still has internal parts that I can't clean. No clue how long it will take for them to finally clear up. Also I am smoking 4...

    Pellet Smoke Smell in Microwave

My wife did the vinegar when I was at work yesterday, so I don't have the specifics on what she did, but she has done it before to clean etc. Will most likely try to do it a few more times. Unfortunate that it still has the chance to be like that for a month. She's a vegetarian so doesn't get to...

    Pellet Smoke Smell in Microwave

Mostly I call it stupid because it really doesn't do a whole lot. It sucks the air from near the stove and blows it out above your head. It goes through 2 "filters" that don't do much. Not going to help with smoke or an onion smell, etc. Since ours is the microwave hood it also runs vent anytime...

    Pellet Smoke Smell in Microwave

It is an above the stove microwave, so yeah, it just vents back into the house (stupid...). There is a 5"x5" filter in there (but only on one side of the vent anyways, so I don't get it's point, no bracket on the other side) which I removed and took a deep smell of it. Didn't smell. Seems to be...

    Mail Box Mod question

I used my dremel to cut it. Traced the hole where I wanted it. Then drew lines to make it look like how you would cut a pie. Cut them all and bent them up/outward to wrap around the elbow.

    Pellet Smoke Smell in Microwave

I didn't really know where to put this, but hopefully someone has done this as well and has a solution. So I was getting everything ready to smoke a pork butt Saturday night. I have a MES30 and dry out my pellets in the microwave first like many other people. I have done it on a standard...

    Every pizza needs bacon

Do you roast your own garlic? If so, do you have a quick recipe for that? I go to Blaze for lunch from time to time and one of the best toppings is the roasted garlic. I had looked for some recipes for the whole clove roasted but didn't find much, and yours looks awesome.

    First time Thanksgiving Turkey

I posted pretty much the same question about half an hour ago. Also first time on whole turkey, just under 13 lbs and trying to find time. I referenced a different thread in my post if you already haven't checked that one out.

Turkey First Timer - Looking for Aprox Smoke Time

I have also seen some other info that says 30min per pound. Which would be way different from what I have seen in threads like the one I linked to. 6 hours vs 3-4 hours on a 12lb bird is a huge difference.

Turkey First Timer - Looking for Aprox Smoke Time

I figured this sub forum would blow up as this week progressed. I have been a bit scared to do an entire turkey as I have only smoked poultry once (chicken drumsticks) and they looked awesome but were not good at all. Mostly I am looking for timing/temperature so I can figure out a game plan...

First Butt and First Smoke ever - Qview

Thanks Gary. No stranger to forums. Just different hobbies. Cars, firearms, Beer, BBQ. Gotta make a quality thread :) although a plated shot is going to be hard. I think the shot of the pan served as my plate this time. Just dug right in. Also a relentless researcher to make sure I was doing...

First Butt and First Smoke ever - Qview

Thanks. Besides trying to get the amnps going properly it really wasn't that bad. I doubt it will go as smooth in the future. Or if it does, i'll be smoking every weekend. :) With the amnps I just wasn't getting it lit enough. I had watched a few videos on getting it properly started. Used a...

First Butt and First Smoke ever - Qview

This weekend I tried out the MES 30 I picked up. Always have wanted to bbq, as I am a pretty strict carnivore but having a vegetarian wife doesn't make that as happen as easy, but this way I'll always have bbq to share with friends :) 4.74lb boston butt. really didn't need any trimming, it was a...
