The stem was growing out of the base of a stump. So im stumped.... but i took some and smoked up some peppers last night so we will see what she does.....
Yeah this little stem out of the stump has thrown me for a loop.... ive heard willow.... walnut... i dunno. Way up here i hav never seen a walnut tree its very cold half the year.
I bought a bunch of wood from an arbourist that said was manitoba maple.... im up in canada. And i find this little stem on one of the stumps that dont look quite right.... so i thought i would throw this out here.... what could this wood be?
I pray its a smoking wood.... i bought a splitter...

I just ended up with a load of maple wood from a tree cutter that did an old yard full of maple trees. Seems to smoke and smell like the maple chunks ive bought. Its for sure hard as well. Just want to know its safe to use in my stick burner as fruitwood is next to impossible to find...
Thanks a bunch guys! Im in love with it. Been tweeking and looking for better wood now. Out in the praries fruit wood is few and far between. She held the temp awesome for 12 hrs straight without having to mess with it much just using charcoals and applewood sticks with the odd birch. Dont know...
So after a good 2 days burn in and working out the kinks i finally got to throw a BBQ for the family on the new grill. I am in love with this thing!!!! My first stick burner and i am just so impressed. Heats evenly burns nice and clean and dont take too much to keep her going! The brisket was on...
