Smoked first brisket yesterday. Trimmed brisket 5 pounds. Put on at 8:00AM thinking it would be done late afternoon. Wrong. Was at 175 when I pulled it at midnight. 1 hour in 250 oven then 4 layers of foil to rest. Sampled this morning and it turned out great.
Excellent. Didnt feel like they cooked very well. But tasted great and were very tender.
Another rant. Last time Imordered parts from Charbroil for grill I ordered some of their smoke kits. Differentbtype of chips in an aluminum tray. Pfft, couldnt get it to light even with a small propane...
Thanks Mike. I smoked ribs over weekend. Using Maverick 732. Transmitter on deck right outside glass doors. Would lose singal at anything over 10'. Had to place receiver on end of couch about 8' from transmitter for it to keep signal. New batteries in both. Frustrating.
Rejoined after moving and changing email addresses. Previously from Oologah, OK. Now living on Table Rock Lake in SW Missouri. Used a charcoal offset before now using a propane Masterbuilt. Wishing for charcoal unit back. Smoked baby backs last night. Great. Glad to be back with this group.
