    2.5lb sirloin roast, cook time?

I've done some looking and it appears the general rule of thumb is 1 hour with 1.5-2 cups of liquid. Since I LOVE bark, and I won't get any, I'm going to sear the heck out of it to at least get some texture contrast. My question now is do I apply a rub like if I was going to smoke it and then...

    2.5lb sirloin roast, cook time?

Ok, pitched the pork. Thanks. Sad to say, but I do believe the treager has had its last run for smoking.:th_crybaby2: High still works good though so some burgs might help ease the pain. That said, I have my heart set on pulled pork tonight. I have a 4.5 pound loin in the fridge I am going to...

    2.5lb sirloin roast, cook time?

Hello all, I've had a 2.5lb boneless sirloin roast on my traeger since 830am, its now 7 hours later and the internal temp is only at 130. My father gave me the smoker, which still has the 3 position setting, when he upgraded last year to a Lil Tex Elite. He told me that with the smoke setting...

First whole bird on Traeger, few questions

Well 4.5 hours smoke, half hour at 325 to bring the breast to 160+, and wouldn't you know almost zero smoke taste..... Maybe it's time to upgrade unfortunately. My father used to love making burgers on this grill, but I much prefer smashed burgers on a griddle. Oh well, a decade was a good run...

First whole bird on Traeger, few questions

Thank you all! I never would have thought about the mustard paste, it's brilliant! I will cook just on smoke for this one with cherry pellets, and leave the skin on in case the wife wants any. Thanks again.:grilling_smilie:

First whole bird on Traeger, few questions

Also, my understanding is that Chicken is generally cooked hotter, is it ok to leave it just on smoke for the whole cook?

    New from MI

Hello all, Sorry this is my second post, I was a little too excited. I am in Northern Lower Michigan where BBQ is nearly impossible to find. I love to cook any and everything, but my favorites are two cast aluminum "Portable Kitchens" from the 50s, and a Traeger BBQ070. As one might guess I...

First whole bird on Traeger, few questions

Hello all, Long time lurker, first post. I have a BBQ070, with a serial number under 200, so it's over a decade old. I have replaced the heating element, as the rest seems OK for now. I am unsure of what the typical temperatures are for the Smoke, Med, and High settings, and which should be used...
