I don't see a subhead, so is there a forum to discuss members restaurant experiences? I'm away from home and headed out tonight for some Q, and would be curious about fellow smokers' recommendations.
Just got word that a new Mission BBQ is opening in town, purporting to offer "various styles from around the nation such as Texas, Carolina and St. Louis." The chain gets decent reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor; but what about you true Q-heads?
Just finished reading "Peace, Love and Barbecue" by Mike Mills. Genuinely enjoyed it, a fun read. One thing he said about smoking kinda grabbed me: "Use charcoal for smoke, wood for flavor." I'd never thought of it that way before, but I can see myself using less wood on my next smokes. Thoughts?
I live in Harrisburg, PA. The best deal locally on lump charcoal seems to be the 40# bag of Royal Oak/Nature Glo for $31.77 (tax incl.) I get from my local plumbing supply store. Who's doing better and where/how?
Just got word that a new Dickey's BBQ (http://www.dickeys.com) is opening nearby. I have no experience with this Texas-based chain. Anyone want to share their experience?
