I use a chimney. Lit the coals using the wax cubes. Coals were hot, red and top was ashy. The pics without the chicken patties were with the cover off. Putting the cover on, it wasn’t hot enough to get grill marks.
I added some fresh briquettes to try getting some new ignition.
Guys this is...
Ever since I bought my Weber kettle I’ve acquired a lot of accessories. From grates to pans to vortex...
I had the idea to keep what I could stored by my grill since I have the storage space. Just curious if any of you do the same? I have 2 grates so the one I’m not using I’d like to store in a...
Hello everyone
I have been a gas griller for my whole life and recently added a Weber kettle. I’m having trouble getting my charcoal screaming hot for a nice sear -Or if I do get those high temps, I am not keeping them for long.
I grill chicken mostly and steak. I use the chimney too. My...
I see the #250 often as far as 250 degrees. On a kettle, how do you keep the temp low to cook at 250 for a long time? Also how do you then get the temp screaming for a sear (reverse sear)?
Hello everyone, looking for some advice. 1st off- Every reverse sear video or article I've read most talk about a 45 -60 minute cook time into total. I've never cooked a steak for more than 5-10 in total, so this feels a bit over the top. I do not have a "low and sear" but will be using the...
Put them On for 3 hours using hickory and mesquite. After 3 hours I stopped smoking them. They have been sitting at 260, and I give them a spritz of beef broth every 30-40 checking for tenderness. I read the toothpick should feel like going through melted butter.
Anything else I should be doing?
hey everyone looking for a little advice. Putting short ribs on my masterbuilt tomorrow. Using a rub of S&P onion powder and paprika
I’m not sure what temperature 250? 275?
Also is there one wood that goes better with beef than another?
I’m not planning on wrapping them. Think I like the Texas...
Looking to build something like this. Think I want the table longer for food prep. Anyone here make something like this? If so are you willing to share plans?
Thank you
im looking into buying a Weber Kettle original. This would have the guarded basket to collect the ashes. It does not have the hinged grill plate. I’ve never cooked on charcoal, but see that if I ever needed to add more coal/wood the hinged piece is convenient.
What are your thoughts? Weber...
Last year I received a Masterbuilt electric smoker, and tried ribs multiple times. I was not thrilled with my results. Yes they were edible, but looked NOTHING like a picture of great ribs. I found the time of the cook to be great, I loved the work, and the anticipation. My wife and daughter are...
smoking beef ribs for the first time today could use some #s
I was thinking 3 hours for smoke (mesquite +?)
Then wrap it to become tender to see the bones pull back
Is that it?

This will be my first attempt smoking BIG beef ribs in my Masterbuilt electric smoker. I have only tried pork ribs before, but I didn’t love the results.
I have no clue how to start. I see people rub mustard and then their rub. I can’t eat spicy food so I want that dark bark but without the...
Hey gang, My first time using my smoker my ribs came out more like smoked meat on a stick. Not too impressive. I thought I might have used too much mustard, making the rub fall off. I also used apple juice as a baste, which may have possibly been too wet?
I plan to put a smaller amount of...
Can anyone help me find out where to buy a grate like the one above?
I dont want the entire contraption just want to buy the grate the meat is on.
Thank you
Turned 37 - They call it "Intolerance to spicy foods". I love the look of a Texas Rub - Can I make a rub for my ribs without any type of chili powder or other "hot" spices?
