Crab apple wood
Is crab apple the same as 'normal' apple wood for smoking? I have a neighbor that wants to take down a crab apple tree. If it is good I would ask him for some in exchange for some food.- pumpkinseed

Mixing meat for sausage
I'm curious, how much do you typically mix the meat for sausage making? Cookbooks typically say not to mix much for meatloaf and burgers or the texture will be poor.
