Nice progress.
For the grate stops, I used a short piece of angle welded to the outside of my supports with the other leg over the top of the grate. That keeps it from tipping out. I welded a 1/4" nut in both back corners to put a bolt in so I don't pull it all the way out. Pull the bolt to get...
Thanks, but I was not involved much. I got it heated up, intakes adjusted, and put the pig on then I had to go home and play nurse. They said it held temp great. No adjusting, just added wood. Sorry to say, but I won't even be able to enjoy any of it.
Bad news, my wife and daughter have the Flu.
I left the smoker with a few friends to cook with this week. My only requirement was lots of pics. Hopefully they will make that happen.
I am just as anxious to see them as anyone else.
Here is a my RF plate drain.
The valve and pipe were replaced before paint. This was on hand at the time. It will drain all but a thin film with it set up level. I have a piece of 2" flat on the end to make it a pan. No way for drippings to get to the fire. If I build a fire big enough for it...
Thanks
The pig is delayed until tomorrow. This rain should move out by then. With the temps being in the low 30s and high 20s for the next few nights it might be interesting. That's cold for down here and I figure it should be fine. Probably just use more wood. We plan on running it for at least...
Thanks
I just mounted a stainless steering wheel on the end of that shaft for the pro. I will get a pic of it when the rain stops.
We are starting a 120 lb pig this afternoon, and have a lot of other things to cook this week. The smoker should get a good workout. I'll try to post pics of some...
Finally got back to civilization. Looks like I can post pics from my phone, but not work computer. It's probably something they have blocked on their computers.
Mine's 1/4" and it works great. I would not go thinner than 3/16". Thicker would not hurt anything other than weight if you had some already.
I did not. I got the smoker all built and then put a good fire in the FB. Ran the CC temp up over 500 that way and it cleaned it all up good.
I would...
I bought 2 quarts of the gray high temp paint from KBS and a gallon of the MF red from Tractor Supply. I sprayed it all with a spray gun.
I have noticed that if the pics on my phone sideways they will not load here for some reason, so I just make sure I take them all with the phone upright...
On my phone it is on mobile. On this desktop, of course, it is on desktop. I usually do most of this from my phone and have not tried to post pics from a desktop in a while. I think the little icon for adding a picture was the same though. I can't see anywhere on here to add a pic. I don't see...
Yes I am. I can't check on my phone from offshore, but it does not even give me the icon for adding a pic on this compurter. I tried to go into photos and upload there and it never responds. I think I remember reading somewhere here that there was a limit to the amount of pics you could have or...
I can not get any more photos to upload. I tried on my phone and it will not work. Now on the computer it will not work either. Anybody have any idea why?
I painted the rest of the trailer Massey Ferguson red. I took these pics just before dark so it looks orange.
I finished putting everything together this evening. I did not get any pics before dark. I will get some tomorrow.
I would not worry about burning it out. There is usually a real light coat of rust preventative on new steel, but it will be mostly gone by the time you finish with all the welding. Just wash it out when your done.
I got the paint from KBS Coatings. It's a little expensive, but good for 1500 deg continuous. It is charcoal gray metallic. We'll see how it holds up. Here is the first coat.
While I am waiting the 8 hours to put on the second coat I am putting urethane on the boards for the deck. Some...
The building is finally completed. Sorry I did not post pics before I came to work. I have to paint it next week when I get home and it will be done. I ordered the paint and have everything ready to get that done. I will post before and after pics when I get back home. I had a goal to finish by...
