Hey Folks'
I talked to DaveOmak, a member on this forum and he suggested the same thing as Woodcutter. The cold pipe is making condensation. I do not have any water trays and my wood is not green it is well seasoned. It has been in my house basement where I keep the humidity between 45 % and 50...
Hello Folks,
I built this small smokehouse this this spring out of pallets that I took apart. All I had to buy was some deck screws and the aluminum flashing for the roof. The total cost of building this is $40.55. The rest of the items I had when I cleaned out my dads shed when he passed on...
I was cleaning up my shed today and I came across a damper that measures 6 1/8". I have not tried to mount it with the shaft, but I can get it up into the stove pipe and when I try and turn it to close it, it turns until there is about an inch more and stops there. It is not straight across the...
Thats the one Influencer. Thanks. I couldn't find that no wheres, I tried my best and I just couldn't seem to find it. He did do a nice job on his smoker. Thanks for the help in finding that again for me, much appreciated, It makes a cheap damper and it works great.
Thanks.
Raymond
Hello Danny,
The store boughten one that is shown by Dave is the flue damper that I am talking about. I had made a flue damper a few years ago and it was simple to make and worked really well, and it was a fairly tight seal when I closed the damper. There was no 1/2" gap all the the way around...
Hello Dave,
That is it. If I went to look for one in a store what are they actually called?. There was a person who had made one with a round flat piece of sheet metal, a long bolt, washers, and nuts, and a couple of screws. I made one also one time for myself but since I had a mini stroke I...
Hello Folks,
I cannot remember how to build a draft to go inside of a stove pipe, I have done it before but due to a previous medical condition it affected my memory. I know it is a rather simple task but I cannot remember exactly how it is done for the life of me. It is aggravating when I...
Hey Dave,
Nice to see your still around and hearing from you. I am glad to be back, it has been a rough time for me health wise and I am not A1 by no means but I want to continue and finish this build. It has been a bad year for skeeters here. They are still around and will be around until the...
Hey Folks,
I am back and I am going to be continuing my smoker build. I have been sick and need rest and still can only do a little bit at a time. Hopefully within the next few days I will have some pictures of my progress posted.
Thanks
I have a 16' Fiberglass skiff that I do not use anymore, I have been thinking about selling it and purchasing a welder. What would you suggest for a welder. Keep in mind that I am on disability because of my back so the best bang for the buck would be what I am looking for.
Thanks,
Raymond
Hey Randy,
Sorry that I haven't been in touch with you sooner but the headaches, blackouts and the spins was fairly bad for awhile. I feel better today and went outside to fix a few things on the lawn mower and am now feeling really tired. I will get back to you probabaly tomorrow.
Thanks...
Hey Randy,
You have a nice looking BBQ/Smoker there my friend. The tank is the exact size tank that I have. Did you do the build and post it on line with all the other measurements and photos for the rest of the build? I would really appreciated seeing the building post. Or, if you have other...
That would be really good. I am at a stand still right now because of a medical issue but would appreciate any and all help and suggestions.
Thanks,
Raymond
I am awaiting for a call for a couple more free 250 gallon oil barrels. I will be cutting the ends off of those and cutting them open and flattening them open to make a metal floor on the trailer and beefing up the trailer frame at the same time. I have a set of axles with larger tires and...
Hey Folks,
Here are a few photos of me cutting the doors almost out but I left the corners uncut because I want to mount the hinges first.
I left the corners intact until I install the hinges. I have to take a break because of back pains. The cutting puts more stress on my back than...
