Hello Everyone,
It's a beautiful, outstanding Friday afternoon, here in my area of the good old U.S. of A. and it's a great day for smokin' brisket. 71 degrees, clear blue skies, no clouds, no wind. I have to have four briskets ready for this evening and I started early, early this morning...
Well, IT happened! Just like Jeff said it would. Went to my favorite butcher, told him I wanted a Bottom Sirloin and he said, "You mean a Tri-tip Sirloin?" And I said that's OK with me. Bought two of them, about 3 lbs. a piece. One for me and one for my neighbor.
Holy Smoke Ring, Batman!
Just finished Jeff's Tri-tip recipe. And what an easy smokin' experience the MES 30 was. First time out of the box. No fuss, no muss. Rubbed the meat last night, aged in the fridge 'till morning, placed in smoker around 11:00 a.m., (I slepted late on Spring...
Ahh! St. Patrick's Day!
Forty-one years ago, St. Pat's Day, 1971, I met my bride-to-be. This year, we celebrate our 40th Anniversary three days before St. Pat's Day, the 14th. That's right, we didn't even date one full year.
However, come the 17th, I'm smokin' the whole weekend. Briskets...
I have a Maverick, the new one, which replaced my old 72, and should you purchase one, you better order an extra probe or two. Read the reviews on Amazon. It works great, and is very useful, but it ain't going to last. At least mine hasn't. However, it's better than the others ones that are...
Sorry 'bout that. Should have said, "The Lone Realtor Smokes Again!"
Weather is too bad to crank up the big Mom Moo, so, as promised, I went and got me an MES 30, the new, "Little Mom Moo." Gander Mountain had plenty of 30's and only one 40, plus the floor sample, which looked pretty beat up...
Wow! A big Texas "HOWDY" to all you guys that have dropped by and said, "Welcome". This is going to be one enjoyable forum. Loaded a photo of my smoker sitting on the deck, across from my Weber grill.
Would like to light 'er up this weekend but I don't believe the weather man will be...
Long time smoker residing in Cypress, Tx., 30 miles from downtown Houston. When I'm not enjoying our great outdoor weather sitting by my smoker, I work full time as a real estate agent.
My smoker is a custom built, six rack, tower, with a side mounted fire box. Smoke and heat is controlled by...
