Ok I will try and microwave twice next time and add a hole above where the tray sits....the tray only goes about have way down the can and it just rests against the walls....the holes are in the bottom of the sides of the can....I have one in each compass direction.
Vent is wide open and and no water in pan...I adjusted my magnets over the holes and have little smoke coming out...looks blue...I’ll try and pull it from the can soon and see what it’s giving off. Should I let the tray smoke for a few mins after blowing out the flame?
I’ve got my amnps going and can’t seem to get any TBS....I’ve got my airflow restricted and there is almost no breeze today. It’s around 55 degrees or so outside....seems to be all white smoke coming out of exhaust.
Any thoughts?

Thanks everyone for the tips! I think I’m either going to use a popcorn tin or untreated wood just to be safe. Also going to get my parts this weekend and get my amnps ordered so I can get things rolling! I’ll post pics when I get setup done!
Thanks for the pic! Really debating on the mailbox or popcorn tin ....did you put 4 holes on the bottom? For each direction? Do you feel that you get enough airflow?
I really like the damper on the mailboxes. Seems like it would be a lot easier to control than with multiple holes and magnets. Did you just use the damper from the exhaust of the smoker?
also is there 2 holes above the damper on the mailbox cover? What size of hole?
