    Mediterranean Smoking Wood--My Exotic Woods

I've got some plans to build a few projects.  I just fixed a couple of broken pieces on the outdoor furniture that were made from Eucalyptus.  We had a wind storm that broke off some Eucalyptus limbs that I saved and then cut down to replace the old parts.   It'd be nice to have a bandsaw that...

    Mediterranean Smoking Wood--My Exotic Woods

Thanks for the reply.  I'm waiting for it to dry and then I'll certainly be smoking some briskets!  I've used a lot of olive for smoking.  It's great but easy to over smoke with and you need it really dry.  Patience and moderation is the key with olive.  Bay has quickly become one of my...

    Mediterranean Smoking Wood--My Exotic Woods

Hello Everyone! Hope you all had a Happy Easter.  I've been on the forum for a bit, mostly posting about my recent project, a reverse flow smoker build.  I've been delayed in the build and posts to the forum due to a lot of work.  I've particularly been cutting firewood and smoking wood.   The...

More updates.... Working on the wild Olive wood handle for the main door.  This was a field find that was cut 1-2 years before.  Wild Olive is famous for it's hardness and durability.  The wood is known to last 10+ years laying on the ground. Started grinding, rust removing and painting at...

Reverse Flow 300L Air Tank Build in Greece...$20 Stick Welder and Angle Grinder

I'm back after a bit of a delay.  Had to get a lot of work done lately, plus take care of some property and inheritance matters.   Anyway, I'll just jump right into it and start uploading pics.  I got a bit of work done as you folks will see... Mounts for second rack.   Door handles.  ...

    Stainless smoker build

I'd just rip it off and maybe hit it with a Bernzomatic Propane of Mapgas torch.  It should take any of the moss right off so you just get the flavor and aroma of the wood.

    Greek Loukaniko

That's the way I generally treat most matters and move in life...it's good to be creative and be able to blend whatever you have together to get something you like.   If you want some recipes from over this way, fire me up....I'll tell you what I know.

    Greek Loukaniko

Curious to see the outcome.  I live in Greece, so Loukaniko is a staple and there are many different styles. Another one that is very good is air dried salami.  In Greek, it's Salami Aeros.   Good luck and I hope they turned out great! Cheers, Dan

Reverse Flow 300L Air Tank Build in Greece...$20 Stick Welder and Angle Grinder

I know they are a pain.  I have some on my little lifting dolly...one holds air perfect and the other constantly deflates.   My problem is having to roll the smoker around the yard on dirt, grass and uneven terrain.  Regular castors may have a tendency to dig in and not roll so well.

Got one of the thermometer holes drilled and a piece internally threaded pipe tacked on to accept the thermometer threads. I even got it lined up a the 12 o'clock position just right.  I'm using Taylor Weekend Warrior gauges at the moment.  Anyone else have these?  I've seen pretty accurate...

    Stainless smoker build

Nice work so far.  I'm digging it.  I have some old Belle Maries that are for buffet serving that could easily be converted to smokers. Uh oh, I think I just incriminated myself for a future project!!!   Keep up the good work and keep the pics coming.   Cheers, Dan

Reverse Flow 300L Air Tank Build in Greece...$20 Stick Welder and Angle Grinder

Burned out the rust, crud and metal coatings last night.  The draft seems to be very prominent from the firebox the the main chamber. You could really tell that the flames were pulling left through the main chamber and away from the firebox, which means there was a good draft.   Looks like it...
