    Sometimes yes, that's why Im wondering if I should put wood in the tray right off the bat, instead of waiting till smoker is at full temp. Have a bullet smoker, never had this happen with it, same wood also. Thanks Al. Paddyj

I  keep the water pan and inside clean, doesn't matter what type of wood, Hickory, pecan, oak. Do you guys put wood in the tray while the smoker is heating, or only after it is at full temp...

    I have extra expanded metal, could I cut it to different widths, cover it with aluminum foil and use it for baffles in my cook chamber? wonder if that would hold any heat, probably not thick enough.

    Hello All, been trolling this site for a few weeks. My name is Paddyj , I am from Pitts. Pa. I use a MES 30 and just bought a Char griller with the SFB. Was wondering how you guys cleaned your MES?  Seems like good people with lots of good ideas on here. Thanks.
