Up until this past Saturday I used apple cider vinegar and apple juice, mixed 50/50. Everyone loved the flavor. Friday night I went to mix a batch up and realized I didn't have any apple juice so I used the next best thing, RUM. Mixed ACV and rum 50/50 and it made the most amazing smell as I...
Well I thought I would post a followup to the question I asked. Friday night I got home and started a half full chimney of this charcoal. It lit up just like normal. I used the rest of my supply Saturday. The morning was cloudy but calm and the first bag lasted about 7 hours. Then the sun...
It's not necessarily age that has caused them to be different. Could very well be tolerances of components inside that make the measurements. Try the ice bath test and see what they read. You can also put them in boiling water and record the variation from 212F and use them knowing there is a...
I picked up some charcoal I had in my FIL's barn Sunday. Over the winter the bags got soaked from an ice dam blocking water from running off. When we picked the bags up the bottom of the bag split so I am curious if the charcoal inside is still worth keeping? I know humidity will cause lump...
Thanks Noboundaries. the last time I looked around Amazon I didn't see this one. I put my order in for it and it should be home waiting on me tomorrow.
I have a Brinkmann Southfork so I am OK if doing only ribs but I am planning a smoke with BB, ribs, salmon, & ABTs. I need as much room as possible.
I agree on the Weber suggestion but it is hard to tell which ones are SS and whick ones aren't.
I am looking for suggestions for rib racks. I did a search here on "best rib rack" and got mixed results so I am asking everyone's advise. My only stipulation is I want stainless instead of chrome plated.
Thanks in advance,
Ryan
I am curious what it takes to get a group started. Kentucky is kind-of known for their BBQ (mutton and burgoo) and I think it would be beneficial for us to have our own group to be able to share competitions and places to buy supplies.

If the unit is not very old, I'd contact Maverick customer service. There are many stories of them sending out replacement probes for a unit that is not very old.
The people working there are saying they don't have it? Lowes is really bad for employing people that do not know what expanded metal is or that they sell it.
Go to metal angle/sheet metal area and look next to that in the vertical storage racks.
If they truly don't have it, try HD.
If all...
I personally wouldn't buy something that has reviews as bad as these smokers do.
Not sure what part of TN you are in (I am assuming here because of your screen name) but check out Top Shot BBQ here on SMF. I think you'll be better off in the long run.
