I can get them off the boat in Oak Island NC (or rather I could) but there was no comparison to the shrimp from my youth. Those gulf shrimp were already marinated in a little oil (sarcasm!)

Here's one for you - where I'm from here in SC if I smoked a brisket with 100% pecan you would swear it was post oak. Oak here (post or white) really does not taste like oak from Arkansas or Texas. Pecan is my favorite local wood (mixed with cherry)

Oh man, it makes the best pot roast you'll ever eat. I don't much care for traditional holiday meats (turkey and ham) so I've taken many a packer and a huge foil pan and made brisket pot roast for the fam to go along with their poultry and pig.

We almost didn't get rain today. Then a pop up hit and it rained for about 10 minutes. 45 minutes later it rained twice as hard (sideways huge drops) for another 15 minutes.
I ate a bunch of mine with white loaf bread last night lol. I was just folding the bread over and putting a couple of chunks in it then dipping it in gravy. Pig out style.
