    I second the internet camera, nothing makes for an easier smoke, point it at the smoker and thermometer...good to go.

    Out local news channel has been touting this as the biggest storm of the season...so far all we got is a bunch of rain this morning and an inch of snow tonight....and some wicked wind. But so far it looks like a bunch of hot air, well cold maybe.

    Also just a thought the SSR will probably generate enough heat that it should keep the PID warm enough if there is a concern with it getting too cold once its going.

    I built one just a couple of weeks ago and have had no problems maintaining temperatures in the cold, however, I too am adjusting the cycle times because the element is on and off way to frequently.     I wouldn't worry about it yet I had just a breast scream up to 145ish the other night and then took 2 hours to make it to 165. It might take longer than you think.

    I did end up rubbing the ends I was about to put it on and doh! Realized I had not done so last night. That said we are cooking along quite well. Added a little Pomegranate BBQ sauce when the meat hit 135. Liking the propane so far.
