    Brinkmann upright low temps

Need just a bit more information. Which Brinkmann model do you have? If you have the SQUARE model you can quickly change out the charcoal pan to one of these: Can get at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, etc. It is a grill wok and can be found in the grill section for under 10.

Way off topic...but I saved some $$ today.

I will be real interested to see if anyone else has the success I did. I had one battery come to full charge and the other did nothing. I have dropped in back in the freezer for a redo just to see. As far as other types of batteries...no clue. I really did not expect it to work on mine. Way...

Need time and temp for a pork lion 2lbs

You can go to the below link and pull a time/temp chart that I found that is very good. It will give you the APPROXIMATE times and accurate temps to remove meats. Remember...always always always smoke your meats to temp and not by time. Did I say always...

Way off topic...but I saved some $$ today.

I have had a Ryobi 18 volt rechargeable tool kit for 5 or 6 years now and the batteries simply quit charging. This is the kit you could buy at Home Depot with the drill, small circular saw, flashlight and reciprocating saw. I was about to shell out $40 for a new set of batteries and thought I...

    Mounted my Brinkmann Vertical

This mod has worked out so much better than I had anticipated. Now that the burner is at a comfortable level I can now use it as a side burner as needed. I used it the other day to preburn my wood chunks for a quick smoke of ABT's. I have used the smoker a couple of times since mounting it...

Little Robert Earl has a point....

Barack Obama, the Presidential Democratic Party candidate, is for banning all guns in America . He is considered by those who have dealt with him as a bit more than just a little self-righteous. At a recent rural elementary school assembly in East Texas, he asked the audience for total quiet...

Any mods for the Brinkman Vertical?

I just noticed that one of my links was broken. Try this if you have the SQUARE Brinkmann Vertical and you wish to modify to use propane as well as charcoal. http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15887 VLAP...glad to see the wok pan is working well for you. Did you see any...

    Mounted my Brinkmann Vertical

to keep the Yanks out.... Wicked afternoon thunderstorms. And that one ain't no lie. We have one blowing over now that just made me shut down the smoker and finish in the oven. It is raining sideways and from every direction. We will probably get a couple of inches of rain in 10 minutes...

    Mounted my Brinkmann Vertical

I converted my charcoal Brinkmann to propane so I don't have to worry about burns unless I drop my chip pan. I am getting much better with my "FLA wardrobe". One of the first tips from a new neighbor was "no shoes, no collar, shorts only and a belt only when you are going to church." We took...

    Mounted my Brinkmann Vertical

We moved to Palm Coast which is south of St. Augustine and north of Daytona. We got so fed up with the tourist traffic in TN. Now we are out of the traffic but can do either the touristy stuff in Daytona or site-seeing in St. Augustine. We are 1 mile straightline from the beach. It is a 6.1...

    Mounted my Brinkmann Vertical

One of the major dislikes I had about the Brinkman Vertical is how low it sits. To do any wood chunk/meat checking you had to dang near get on your knees. I have no problem getting down...gravity works with me...getting up...that is a different story!!!! As I was loading our stuff in TN up...

    Georgia BBQ Recommendations

jfoust....you beat me to it. Southern Pit has been voted in the Top 5 in the Southeast (#1 many times) by Southern Living mag for years now for their BBQ. It is just south of the Atlanta Motor Speedway and it is nothing to see this place packed with drivers and crew during race week. There...

Woulda made a great Fathers Day present!!!!

My new Nail Gun, made by Dewalt. It can drive a 6-D nail thru a 2 X 4 at 200 yards. This makes construction a real breeze…you can sit in your lawn chair and build a fence. Just get the wife and kids to hold the fence boards in place while you sit back, relax with a cold beer, when they have...

Cheap vertical smoker maybe worth a look!

It did burn off during my test run but I did not smell any odor (other than good old smoke). I used it for a couple of cooks and did not notice any adverse flavors. I can't see any major deterioration of the metal. It may not last as long as the expanded metal but cost and ease of use was my...

    Mod. to my Brinkmann?

http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/for...ad.php?t=15710 Look for my reply in the thread. I have the two door model as well. This tray used the existing rails with only slight modifications to the tray itself. I think you can pick this up for under $10. I think I bought my charcoal pan at Lowe's...

    Hello from Georgia!

Hey Jeff... You can pull a good T&T chart from this link: http://cid-273ae30c2caa330f.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/Smoking%20Tidbits You may have to copy/paste the link in to your browser. I can't take any credit for creating it. I found it floating out in the ether and thought it was...

What I had for lunch yesterday

Notice the beautiful presentation......the offset layering of the rib sections. The ying and the yang of the smooth square bowl of cole slaw to the elegantly sloping round french fry bowl. The downhome atmosphere provided by the white paper "tablecloth". Ahhh...the light brushing of bbq...
