    Brew your own beer???

Check to see if you have a homebrewing supplies place within a decent driving distance, they can help you get all the basic brewing equipment you need, do a little explaining for you and if you like it and stick with it, you'll change out some equipment as you go along. I've been brewing for...

Is it OK to brine in a big beer cooler?

Consider the extra-insulated 5-day coolers, too; they hold temps better than a regular cooler.

    Smokin' Bologna

It was about an hour into our smoke when we decided to add this, and we only left it on for an hour or so - it was a small stick of bologna - no rub, just naked. It ended up with a nice color and a mellow smoke taste... gonna be good on crackers w/some stone ground mustard.

    Smokin' Bologna

I did a search on this, but didn't really what I was looking for. Feel free to point out what I may have missed! We've got a smoke going on now, a couple of fatties for the weekend medieval event... and as an afterthought, we've tossed on a small stick of bologna... since it's fully cooked...

    Post Counts

Ditto to what Vlap said - I've been really pushed away from some brewing forums that I used to frequent... still got a few precious pals that I met on them, and we still email a lot, but the whole 'expert' thing was blown out of proportion - and the post count thing got really silly. Thanks...

Lookin' for a Brunswick Stew recipe

Meowey - thanks for the link - I had looked at several recipes online, thought I'd see if the SMF folks had something that was considered a family fave. I've used allrecipes before with much success. This recipe sounds good and we'll try it soon... it may need a little adjustment to get it to...

    ABT's, Anahiems & Problano's

We did multiple kinds peppers on our first batch of ABTs... same results as you - Anaheim's were a good tasting snack, but little heat - and we liked the size of the Jalepenos as well as the bit of heat that went with them. Need to try the cream cheese filling next go-round.

this site is THE BEST 1 ON THE NET

My past few "new" hobbies, I've looked to the 'net for forums where I can ask questions... in the pre-'net days, I just read anything I could get my hands on. The internet indeed makes the world smaller and it's great to have the access to years upon years of experience at a simple click. A...

    Spur of the moment fatties

We've found another reason to love a fatty... they're low prep and you can do them as you please! We're sorting out what to take home to my mom's for the extended weekend... I said 'I wanna do a couple of fatties' - and so we picked up 2 Tennessee Pride chubs at the sto' (on sale at Kroger 2...
