I'm trying my first brisket today that I injected using bouillon cubes. Have you tried them before? It's 4.5lbs that I started at 10:30am and it's 5:00pm and IT is just 149*. I will foil it at 165* with some more of the bouillon until 200* I'm thinking.
I'm giving it a quick spray in fear of it drying out. My temp drops about 10* but heats back up after 2 minutes. I've done the same with ribs and they have come out great. Believe me I'm in noooo rush. Thanks for the input though. I'm still somewhat new to the game.
I'm having the same problem right now with a 4.5lb brisket. Stuck at 142* for a while and smoking at 225-240*. I've head of this "stall" and I'm just going to wait it out. It's been on the smoker for nearly 5 hours. I spray it about every half hour with beef broth and also injected it before...
Hey SmokeRog how did the brisket turn out? I'm yet to try one. Done just about everything else. I found a nice 4lb brisket at Costco I might pick up to try.
Just started this guy for fathers day. Scored and rubbed. Making a glaze with honey, pineapple juice, dry mustard and ground cloves I'll put on a few times later in the smoke
Thanks for joining. I started this group just for the reason of getting other Wisconsin smokers involved in different techniques. I just started smoking this past winter and just started some Cornish game hens
