Sunday I was smoking some mini meat loafs on my electric and the element took a dump on me. So got to thinkin about maybe converting it over to gas. I like the little thing because it is double walled and holds the heat. Took today off and decided nope, I'll just swap and get a new one. Took it...
We cook over an open fire all the time out camping. Just let the wood burn down, foil up some tators, throw them right in the coals, and put the steaks on the grates. Good stuff!
That's the way we do them too. Bout an hr. I think the longer you smoke them the less heat they have. I like a little bite and crunch to them. Plus, IF, there are any left over, they nuke better too.
