Most of the high end brands have a visual imperfection sale at some point. Just got a Staub La Cocotte 7 quart for $200. It retails for $500. The imperfection was almost impossible to find, it was a minuscule lack of enamel on the underside of one handle. None of the imperfections are claimed to...
I got a Giraffe auto-retractable hose on a reel about 1.5 years ago, liked it so much I got a couple more. The retract mechanism is so strong, it reels itself back in when done with the user carefully walking with it. I say carefully because if it accidentally gets away from you it will retract...
I've rarely encountered an olive I'm not a fan of, but Marmarabirlik Dried Natural Black Olives from Turkey are phenomenal. They can be found in Turkish or Mediterranean grocery stores as well as Amazon. They're wonderful!
I don't follow what you mean? If I do follow, based on my interpretation, that's horrific, there's got to be a more humane solution. My apologies if I've totally misinterpreted.
I just don't consider Miracle Whip to be mayo, it even refers to itself as a salad dressing. Not a hater, just think it's an apples to oranges comparison. I think it's similar to calling Durkees, mustard. It's mustard like, but certainly not mustard.
I'm not familiar with that either, but I am willing to spend a wee bit extra for good mayo. Case in point: Kewpie from a good Asian store. Pricey but well worth it for the umami kick. World Market sells it but from my experience, it has to be an Americanized version that lacks the magic of what...
Any familiarity with these diminutive German cocktail wieners? A jar caught my eye recently and they followed me home. Thinking a pig in blanket treatment, lightly pre-smoked or something. I'm also tempted to just pop them into my mouth straight out of the jar. I have no shame when it comes to...
My wife and I went to an event in South Carolina several years ago where they cooked an entire cow on one of these spits, as well as a plethora of other large, intact animals. It's quite a sight to see, but our collective takeaway, as well as everyone we spoke to was that it's a disservice to...
My experience is that they take care of their customers. Hopefully that'll be yours as well. I would be a bit put off if asked to mess with the wiring on a new product though.
Thanks for the inspiration! Just made a focaccia with a touch of turmeric and black pepper. Added a wee bit of sumac and lemon zest for added complexity, and a few Kalamata olives. It will be pared with a Chicken, tomato, black olive, white wine style stew tonight.
This is an analog model almost certainly. If so, I'd jump on it. Even if the element burns out, replacements are DIY and readily available from Smokin-It. I've had my #1 probably 8 years, use it frequently, and zero problems. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. You'll be amazed how much you can fit...
I've got a Benriner Japanese mandoline, love the simplicity of it. Ultimately though, I almost always opt for an appropriate knife and a sufficiently sized cutting board. The mandoline slicer screams "danger" to me.
