    Ribs - Try number 2.

To those who wanted more info - glad to share. Rub - salt, garlic powder, chili powder, a little chipotle powder, cumin, and brown sugar. Foil mixture - honey, sweet chili sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Smoked over apple wood.  I did try the last stage with the wood not soaked, seemed to...

    Ribs - Try number 2.

Worked much better this time. Shortened cooking times by 30 minutes each stage and used a different rub, and didn't put any rub on after foil stage.

    Newbie questions

Well, the first rack I ever smoked is in the books.  Didn't turn out too bad, and I at least know some areas to fix. I used the apple wood from Wal Mart - per suggestions, I weighed out 3 sets of 5-6 oz of the wood (the Smoke-n-grill needs wood replaced after about 1.5 hours or so, so I...

    Newbie questions

I'm looking to smoke my first rack or two of ribs in a couple of weeks.  I've been scouring the forums and the internet and have found some information, but I'm hoping some of y'all can help me out a little, as I still have several questions. I'm planning to go with the 3-2-1 method, as I have...

    Smoke n' Grill lower grate

Thanks - next time I wind up cooking enough to have to use the lower grate, I'll be sure to try some of the above and let you know.  I've only had to use the lower grate once as it is, simply because the turkey thighs I had were too big to all fit on the upper grate.  Had the water pan filled...

    In Tucson

Where 'bouts in Tucson are you?  I'm up in Marana.  Loving my Brinkmann electric so far - definitely have to say the weather down here is almost perfect for it year-round!

    Smoke n' Grill lower grate

Just joined the group, haven't been on the forum for more than a few months.  I currently use a Brinkmann electric Smoke N' Grill - the one that looks like the Cookin' Cajun (but it's not the Cookin' Cajun). Has anyone had much luck cooking any meat on their lower grate? Mine is sitting right...

    newbie question

...only because I can't seem to find an answer to this online anywhere (but maybe I'm not using the right keywords). I'm trying to find a nice brine recipe for turkey.  So far, everything I've seen says that ice is part of the recipe.  However, my car is on the fritz and I can't get anywhere to...

    Cows with Guns

Love 'em both....nice bit of laughter to inject in my day! Although...now I'm going to be singing "Cows With Guns" in my head every where I go....

    Almost 4 hours in...

I should add that the grilling weather has been perfect - no wind to speak of, outside temp is around 80 degrees, not a cloud in the sky.  We can smell the apple wood smoke all through the house...

    Almost 4 hours in...

...to the Turkey Day Bird, and it is looking mighty tasty!  Not really doing any fancy marinade, but my wife made up a brown sugar / chipotle rub that is to die for. Anyone with a Brinkmann - are the cooking times from the Brinkmann company accurate?  5-6 hrs for an 11.25 pound bird?  Or is it...

Beginner needing help with a Brinkmann electric smoke n grill

*sigh*.... Sorry guys - I'm going to chalk this one up to slightly shoddy workmanship on the smoker itself, not being careful about how the unit was labeled, and my apparently not understanding the owner's manual fully (the last would've been a bit easier if they included pictures of what stuff...

Beginner needing help with a Brinkmann electric smoke n grill

Sorry, another question I just thought about.  The owner's manual that I found online says that the water pan should be resting on the notches around the side of the smoker.  However, my smoker is wide enough that I can't rest the water pan on the support notches -- it has to sit directly on top...

Beginner needing help with a Brinkmann electric smoke n grill

Sorry, I don't even know what model it is.  But no, it doesn't have the door on the front.  Looks most like the one in the middle of the second row on that page.

    Intro Post

Hi All, I'm a new user to smokers.  Received a Brinkmann Electric Smoke N' Grill last year, and I am planning to start using it this weekend.  You'll probably see my question post related to that over in another forum...if you've got any answers to my questions, I'd sure appreciate any help I...

Beginner needing help with a Brinkmann electric smoke n grill

Hi all, I am wanting to use my Smoke N Grill for Thanksgiving this year.  I have an electric one, and it does not (at least not that I can see) have a side door for loading more wood chips during smoking. I'm confused on a couple of things with how to use it, and I was hoping there might be...
