    Doing a big sirloin roast!!!!

What temp did you smoke this at? I had always heard that low and slow was not good for very lean pieces of meat, but that looks tender and juicy.

How to cut a brisket to fit in the smoker

Thanks. All I know is to not separate the point and flat before cooking

How to cut a brisket to fit in the smoker

As I mentioned in another thread, my wife just ordered me a Landmann 34" smoker for my birthday. I am really excited and can hardly wait for it to arrive. As my thread title suggests, I want to know how to cut a full packer 11-14 lb brisket so it will fit on the 16" racks of the Landmann 34". I...

My Wife just ordered me a Landmann 34" gas smoker for my birthday

I really wanted the GOSM BB, but Bass Pro is sold out and probably will not be getting any more. After thinking about it though, I realized that the 34" (model 3405GW) is plenty big enough for us. It is just the two of us and we rarely have a lot of people over for cook outs and such. Of course...

    I am so bummed

Thanks for the suggestions. I will give my local (60 miles away) Bass Pro Shop a call and see if they have any in stock.

    I am so bummed

I just checked the Bass Pro Shop Web site and the GOSM Big Block is out of stock! What am I going to do? That is the only gas smoker in that price range that I have seen that I really like. Perfect size for a whole packer brisket. Any suggestions for an alternative in that same $200 price range?

Noob question about spraying the brisket

I have read where many people spray their brisket (or ribs or butt) with apple juice. The question is, do you spray with pure apple juice or do you mix other stuff with it?

Difference between the ET-7 and the ET-73?

Whoa, never mind. I see that one is remote and the other isn't. I thought that they were both remote.

Difference between the ET-7 and the ET-73?

I've done a search and I did not see a thread that addresses this so I thought that I would ask. What is the difference?

I am so confused, MES or GOSM.

I am new here and at first I thought that I really wanted a MES but after some research I have discovered the GOSM. What I want is something reliable and easy to use. I don't want to have to learn the fine art of fire building with wood or charcoal. I would like the ability to put in some meat...

    Finding good beef

I went by the butcher shop that I found and it was a really nice, clean store. No bad odors. I have been to places where it smelled really bad. The guy that I talked to was really proud of his store and his selection of meats. Everything looked good. He had some brisket flats, but could get...

    Finding good beef

Oh Snap! I should know better. Google is my friend. I did a search for butchers in my area and came up with about 8 hits. Unfortunately, all but one are in areas of town where I would not go without packing heat. The one that is in a decent part of town is only 20 minutes away. I plan to go by...

    Hello from North Carolina

No smoker yet, but will be getting one for my birthday. I am looking at the 30" Masterbuilt Electric Smoker. For now I am reading everything I can and collecting recipes from everywhere. I am lovin' this forum.

    Finding good beef

I went to my local Food Lion and asked the butcher there if he could get me a whole packer brisket. He pointed over to the meat case and said. "one of those?" What he was pointing at was a pre-packaged 2.5 lb. corned beef brisket. I said no, a whole packer. He looked at me as if I had just...
