    better than masterbuilt? please?

Suzie,   I have tried some moonshine recently that was called Midnight Moonshine that was purchased from a local liquor store. After a small taste of it, decided it was the kind of stuff you would give a small taste to your friends & a LARGE taste to your enemies. It remains in its mason jar. AGK

    Bradley 4rack digital Temp fluctuations

LJ,   I have a Bradley 4 rack Digital smoker that I have used for over 2 years. There are temp variations between the 2 sensors mainly due to location. DO NOT put sensor directly on metal racks. If probe is mounted under meat it will read much hotter (30 to 50 F) than if mounted above. If no...

Wife surprised me with a WSM 18.5 for Christmas

You may want to check with your insurance company. Ours here says that putting a grill on a wooden surface without proper protection is a no no. Alan

    Help with hinges

Hi All,   This may be slightly off topic but here goes anyway. I recently saw a post on another forum about replacing bad or broken hinges on a vertical smoker with piano hinges available at Home Depot. Looks like a permanent fix.   AGK

If you want a smoke ring with your MES, try this.

geerock,  That is an interesting way to get double use of your smoke & also run 2 different temps at the same time. You can cold smoke & hot smoke at the same time. Is your grocery bill going up??   AGK

If you want a smoke ring with your MES, try this.

daRickstra,    The controller in the Bradley may have handled the extra load, BUT would would have been right on the top edge of limit. I  changed 18 gauge hi temp wire with 12 gauge hi temp wire in cabinet along with new fuse in PID. I am a retired cellular cell site tech with a lot of...

If you want a smoke ring with your MES, try this.

daRicksta,   Thanks for the reply. Haven't used the offset in some time & loaned it to one son so he could try. As I remember it is a Char Broil horizontal but the name tag is gone. Smoked quite a bit with it before I got the Bradley that I modified by replacing the 500 watt element with a 900...

If you want a smoke ring with your MES, try this.

I only suggested sodium nitrite to put a ring that LOOKS like a smoke ring on meat because it is the sodium nitrite that turns meat ( like a ham)  pink when cured. I have not tried it & have no plans to try it because the lack of a smoke ring is of no concern to me on ribs or whatever I cook...

Has anyone tried adding a little sodium nitrite ( within recommended guidelines per pound of meat ) to your rub to see if that will add a   ring that looks like a smoke ring? Just a thought. Alan

An idea for making bisquettes for Bradley smokers

I have experimented  going just that when I had an apple tree blow down in my back yard, in fact that started my trying to make pucks. The smoke output is quite low due to the wood being more dense than the sawdust. Tried drilling holes in wood which made for more smoke, but still short on...

An idea for making bisquettes for Bradley smokers

      I measure 2 1/4" diameter ( maybe 2 15/64 ) X 9/16" thick. Converted to metric I measure 5.6 x 1.5.   Alan

An idea for making bisquettes for Bradley smokers

Smokewood,   Sorry, I did not make a video of my process, but was referring to an earlier post on this thread. I do have the link somewhere on my computer & will post it when I find it. Alan

An idea for making bisquettes for Bradley smokers

This is my first post here, but I have made over 200 bisquetts in the last year or so. Some of the first ones were not the greatest, but did work. I think from experimenting that 2" is a little small as the just burned one does not get completely pushed off the burner. I use a 2 ton hydraulic...

    New to forum

Hi All, My name is Alan from Green Bay, Wi.  Am new to this forum, but not to smoking. Have used a gas grill, charcoal grill, an offset smoker, & a Bradley 4 rack digital. The Bradley has been modified with a 900 watt element & a Auber PID.  Have enjoyed tinkering with various projects...
