Question. I've never heard of using sand. Here in PA it's about 15 degrees.
If I use sand do I have to season the smoker again or is it ready to use out of the box.
Another stupid question.

I finally got the smoker I wanted! I got A GOSM (the bigger one of the 2). Tommorrow I'm going to season it and get ready to smoke something (food of course)! This has only been my first year playing with this stuff. I got an electric one last year.

These sound and look excellent! I'm not working Friday and would like to try this. I want to stuff mine with ground hot sausage and cover with cheese wrapped in bacon.
Here's my dilemma - How long should I smoke them and at what temp? If I do it with sausage should i cook the sausage...

No pics, was to hungry! I have to say Jeff knows how to put things together! I used his finishing sauce and bought his secret recipes. All 3 are great and the 2 I bought were worth the money. If you're a newbie like me invest in his secret recipes. You'll get great compliments!!
How much smoke should I have in this? Should it be normal or heavy? I read Jeff's instructions and it said heavy smoke. This is my first and I want it right.
