I'm sure this has been covered here somewhere but I cant find it. Just trying to figure out how to check to see if my thermometer is reading the proper temperature. I have a non contact temperature gun, but if I open the lid to use it, by the time the smoke clears to see what I'm doing I imagine...
So I bought mine Saturday, brought it home , sprayed the inside and started a fire to season... what a mess, seemed to drip all over, will be moving it off the concrete before I run it again!
Sunday I smoked a ham that I had been brining all week, took a bit longer than I had thought, finished...
How we doing? Scott here , just figured I'd check in. I've wore out several smokers over my lifetime, not sure how good I ever got though, so I'm looking to learn.
Just picked up a Old Country BBQ Pits Over and Under Smoker today, ready to season it and get it ready to play! Got some pigs out...
