PTCRUISERGUY,
That guy was me! I had issues with mine and could not find the parts anywhere. MBTECHGUY here fixed me up and I got what I needed and back in business. I think my element fried and the wires leading to it burnt also. Changed everything out and seems to be working fine...
If you look over bears instructions and from what I discussed with him, he burns his AMNPS for the entire smoke and the key is TBS (thin blue smoke) and you should be fine.......

Bear,
Thank you for the confirmation of what I asked. I plan to do exactly what I stated, I just need to find a nice ham shank or two now. Lastly, do you just do 2 at a time or have you attempted more than that?
Appreciate your insight and knowledge....it is always so helpful and I love...
Bear,
I know this is an older post but I am doing a couple of these hams soon and have a few questions if you don't mind.
1. I understand the directions state it is already cooked and only needs an internal temp of 130. I saw your two separate posts with different processes and both were...
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Thankful for my health, my great family, the SMF Family and being able to provide a great meal today for all to enjoy!!!
I would agree with keeping the lid shut. I have not found a big difference in the pork butts that I use to spritz and the ones I don't now. Speaking from experience because I have the exact smoker you do, they do not retain heat that well so keeping that lid shut and using a Maverick...
Disco,
First off that is a MASTERPIECE in my opinion and now I'm starving and MUST try this soon. Can you tell me how many packs of bacon you used? My guess is two packages... I am also trying to figure out the whole weave of the bacon and how long it should be to actually roll the meat log...
I thought it was fitting to quote your post due to my screen name...... I was born an raised in that hell hole they call Upstate NY. I was from a town called Rome, NY. I packed my things, left and never looked back.......
That is why I am an ex-Rome- NYer.......exromenyer!!!!!!!!!
I'm not really concerned Chef Willie since i'm not doing any modifications, I'm just replacing some female connectors. The element actually just plugs right back into the back of the smoker and those male ends will be brand new because Masterbuilt is sending me a brand new one as a...
Thanks for the information. I did plan on cleaning the male sides with sandpaper for sure. I just took the element out and the entire back piece. I have an ace hardware nearby so I'll make a stop there. I acutally pulled off the other one to bring it with me. Figured while I got it apart...
