GOSM I Steal I Got From Craig's List for $35.00

There's some good deals to be had on Craigs list, just have to keep looking. Seems like on Ebay, some people get in a bidding frenzy and pay more then they could have gotten new. Dave

I tried to stuff the SV24- came close to full: q-view

Looks like you've got that smoker real estate maxed out. I would like to try the ground meat jerky, but I would either have to get a jerky gun, or an adapter for my stuffer. With the regular jerky, I have to carry "Plakers" with me!

    Teriyaki Jerky W/Qview

Ya know, I don't know why. I used to make it in an American Harvest dehydrator, and it would drip all over. I have made three batches in this one, and hardly a drip. I did put the meat in a colander before loading it on the racks though. Maybe it drips off while I load all of the racks, and then...

    Teriyaki Jerky W/Qview

Some of you may have seen my post of getting a Globe ChefMate 12" slicer with a cabelas 160 liter dehydrator for $275. I really only wanted the slicer, and hadn't made any jerky in a long time, so decided to make some. The first batcch I made I used Eye of Round roasts and used the recipe in...

    Woo-Hoo..Heck of a deal

Just found these on a local Craig's list. A Globe ChefMate 12" slicer ( no sharpener though) and a cabela's 160 liter dehydrator...all for $275.00. I looked on Cabela's web site and the dehydrator alone sells for $475. Ebay has listed this same model slicer for $1065, but it does have a...

    Who likes Pastrami? W/Qview

Sure, but I am always trying new blends. On this one I used 3 TBS CBP, 2 TBS coriander ( cracked), 1 TBS Mustard seed (cracked), 1 TBS each of white pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, & paprika. Dave

    Who likes Pastrami? W/Qview

Well, I made one of these last week and it was so good, I had to make another. I started out with a corned beef I got at Sams Club. 3.84 lbs. I soaked it ice water for 6 hours, with a change in water after 3 hours to get the excess salt out. Took it out of the water and dried it off...

    Pastrami pricing?

I'm thinking that at $7.00/lb, you would probably just break even. I used to sell sausage to friends at work, they couldn't get enough of my Slim Jims and Summer Sausage. Made enough to pay for my equipment and for me to eat sausage for free. Dave

    Pastrami video, start to finish

That's because she didn't use sodium nitrite in her cure... don't think it would taste the same without it. Dave

    Butt in an Electric

I used the kitchen aid as a grinder for quite a while, and for a small batch I still do....much easier to clean!! However, do yourself a favor and get a separate stuffer...trust me on this! Northern Tool has a small one for under a $100. I don't think you could do snack sticks on a...

    cassings ? for kielbasa

Hmmm, seems like it would "taste" exactly the same to me if the seasonings are the same, just different how you like to eat it. I like the smaller casings so I can put it in a bun if I want. To each there own I say!! Dave
