They are on backwards, that's my last task is to figure out how to get that fixed without help. It's pretty heavy, I'll try to get it up on saw horses so I can flip them around.
Should have seen the drive I had to move it on and it was fun getting in to my truck. Kinda cracks me up that...
Ok, based on this information, I'm not sure the density or pattern of holes in the round plate but assuming 1/2" holes spaced roughly 1 1/2"-2" apart I would include holes in the center and set the plate as low as 3" over the intake. Holes included in the center (not too many) so the lower...
The weather has been great, especially the fast 3 or so, even a little cool in the mornings. I think it will warm a little for a few weeks and maybe we'll get our 2 weeks of fall :) This is the golden time of year to cook outside.
Given the setup you have, sounds like you have a plan. Curious if you have tried pork butt like this already? A cheaper way to test the configuration.
Good luck!
I think I can smell the chops from here! The color is fantastic and just last night we pondered why out daughter doesn't add "extras" to pasta salad. Nice meal!
Looking good, I suspect that 12" round you have would work perfectly, I'd place it about 6" over the intake with minimal obstruction around it so maybe allthread bolted on as legs.
Done, and some in my belly! Been a full day of cooking. The Mrs also pickled Serranos, canned salsa, and put together pasta salad for dinner.
Happy Saturday
Well, the tips a.k.a. chefs treats are done and they taste pretty good. Decided not to sauce these. Nothing sweet on them, pure savory.
The ribs themselves did get sauced, they are resting until they are cool enough to handle and cut up.
I also decided to smoke some cornbread to go...
Seems I had the players right but the order wrong. It's a convoluted history but very interesting.
Further research:
Oklahoma Joe's came first, founded in 1987 by Joe Davidson. Horizon Smokers was established later in 2002 by Roger Davidson, Joe's brother, after Oklahoma Joe's was sold to...
It's a beautiful day in North Texas, mid 70's and sunny. Perfect weather to get out and cook.
Had some ribs in the beer fridge that I just had to deal with so....
Hit the racks with Montreal seasoning and dusted with house GPR-86 (Killer general pork rub). The trimmed tips I wanted to do...
I think I could flip it for triple my money or more without even putting anything in to it beyond a quick scrub.
Is it crazy that I will probably keep it? I already have an Old Country G2 but the cool factor is worth more to me than $400 and honestly if I wanted a new gun I'd probably just go...
I think you are right, a lucky find. But it helps when you know what you're looking at. I believe most "normal" folks would walk past this in favor of something new at Lowes..... Maybe I'm wrong but I had no issue waiting until the discount days started at that estate sale because I was very...
Unbelievable find, some of you saw I posted about an unopened King Kooker I grabbed from an estate sale, today discounts started so I went back and tucked around a corner out back was a smoker. It was an early to mid 90s Brinkmann Cimarron, all of it, including even the ash tool. It was filthy...
We almost never deep fry but boil I'd a different story. Low country boil, crawdads, and more. Keeping and eye out now for a nice 25-30 quart pot. I'll also grab a discada if I find a nice one.
