    New experience doing some CSRs

We did some CSRs yesterday, using Bearcarver's step by step and discovered a great wood combo for pig. Now it may not be new to others, but it was for us, just looking to change it up a bit. I used half maple and half peach in the AMNPS and enjoyed the smell so much, I could have smoked...

    Country Style Ribs (CSRs)

I'm gonna try these using your times and everything except the pineapple juice, Bear. If you remember, I did a pork butt following your step by step and basked in the credit. Had it not turned out, you would have had to shoulder the blame. How easy can it get? An MES30, Bear's...

    Question on meat thermometer

Then the red text option should be removed from those of us with little self control? Sorry, don't mean to trifle, but I just think the objection is silly. Just my opinion. I appreciated JJ's expertise, whether it be in red, blue, green or polka dot. Keep on smokin' Fred

    Question on meat thermometer

Oh, PLEASE, guys, Must we be so politically correct that we muzzle our posts? JJ's posting in red hurt someone's feelings....REALLY? Seems like, to me, in my short time here, that too many folks are looking for a chance to pounce on anything in this forum that might be ever so slightly off...

    Question on meat thermometer

:rotflmao:Glad the red was in that post. Kept me from noddin' off while I was tryin' to wade through all that technimicalitistic stuff.:rotflmao: GOOD STUFF, THOUGH.

    PELLET PREHEAT

Just gotta mention one thing about my "snap top" containers. I can turn these upside down full of soup and they don't leak. They are definitely air tight. Mine were made for food storage, not nails and screws. I believe Todd and Dward51, that some of the pellets are prone to wicking from the...

    PELLET PREHEAT

For what it's worth, Cathy, here's how mine are stored. The big bin on the bottom is apple, as I use that the most. They still get a bit damp, just like Dward51 stated. Not an insurmountable problem, but just needs a workaround sometimes. Good luck with yours, Fred

    PELLET PREHEAT

Hi Cathy L, I think after reading all this, that you'll find everyone has different conditions and experiences with reference to smoking. Some folks, apparently, are blessed by the smoking gods and don't have any problems. However, if you do, you'll find that there's a plethora of solutions...

    PELLET PREHEAT

Xcellent post Dward51. I too was using the micro until I just started letting the AMNPS sit loaded in my MES30, while it comes up to temp. I, as stated, have found that I can now skip the micro, as I haven't had an issue since I started doing it this way. Thanx for your insight as to the oft...

    PELLET PREHEAT

Smokinhusker, you're right about the naturally damp JD's. Unfortunately, what's not being considered here is the fact that prior to purchase, you have no control as to how pellets are packaged and stored. Especially if you buy from one that buys in bulk and repackages to make money selling at...

    PELLET PREHEAT

Yay Dave, Thanx for chiming in....if Nick would have read my post thoroughly, I stated I stored them in a damp garage and even though they are in air tight containers, they still get a degree of dampness, that, in my case, prevents them from flowing from the initial lighting to the rear.  Sort...
