Used your process for my first attempt at this using a 9 3/4 boneless boston butt (called everywhere but thats was all available here)i didnt tie it up either only bc i didnt have any string. didnt rub it with mustard. Just rubbed heavy rub and injected w/apple juice and rub. But its weird bc...

Has anybody bought a pork shoulder from costco? Im curious of the quality? Looking to do my first one. But i want to trim it myself and want the money muscle to be there. When trimming do you cut the muscle off or cook the entire shoulder whole and at the end cut it off so it seperate?
Anybody know what kind of injector is a good yet mildly priced one? I bought one off amazon and the friggin thing is such a POS. Also i have a digital thermometer with the long wire. Do i let that sit on the grate for smoker temp or can i stick it in whatever im cooking up for internal temp...
I have the same smoker. Im in the midst of doing the mods and was thinking for a seal on the lip of the hood of using an oven door seal. (The seal on the inside of an oven door) and applying it using the high heat adhesive. Has anybody done this or have an better idea? Too much smoke escapes...
