Dave, here's a link to a thread that smokinmeat started after we made mods to his smokin pit. Sounds like you are planning to mod pretty close to what we did to his. Good luck with your mods.http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/for...ght=smokinmeat
I went back and looked at your building pics on another thread and don't see any stack on the roof of your smoker. The question I have is are there any fresh air intakes on the bottom of your smoker and to do you have a stack for smoke to exit from on the top. Air flow is important.
Looks good. How did it taste? Eat the evidince and try again. I've ended up with some mega-fatties myself. Practice, practice, practice, you will get your technique.
Looks good Dave, waiting for the finished q-view. Enjoy the weather today. Here in N.W. Mo. we have upper 30's, wind, and snow flurries. Coming your way, sorry.
Meowey, butt(s) and buns sure look great. Nice q-views. Keep up the good work. Had some of that sandy beach falling here this morning, but no accumulation(sp). Have a good day and may the smoke gods be with you.
Sounds like things are coming together for you. Won't be long before you can wrap them. Hope the plateau doesn't last to long but you should be ok. Keep us informed and post pics if possible.
Welcome to SMF. From your discription I believe you could smoke on your grill but as I an a stickburner, you should wait for someone who is more familiar with your grill for an answer. Enjoy the site and may you "Q" be exceptional.
Pigcicles I'm planning on bringing some of it with me in June to the get-to-gather. The Okie will be drooling all over himself and want some for himself.
Thanks for the offer Andy but that would be quit a road trip to help someone split wood. I have another cherry tree spotted that has been down a couple years and need to go get it ASAP.
Looking good,Steve. Keep us informed on your progress and how it works. Could be just the thing for a small camping trip for two couples. Would probably be quit the discussion piece while have a beverage and sitting by the campfire.
Dude, Wild cherry is about the only wood I use in my stickburner and it will sure help finding an already seasoned log to use and not have to wait for it to dry so it can be used in the smoker. A good find if I do have to say so myself.
Hey, where there's a will there's a way. I have smoked in the rain, in snow, and in O degree weather. Doesn't hurt the "Q" one bit, you just have to dress for the occasion and keep your temps at the desired level.
